February Look We Love

Ah February, the month of love! And we're pretty dang in love with the wedding trends we've noticed thus far in 2014. Instead of sharing just one for February, we wanted to go over a few that have caught our eye over the past month. Prepare yourselves because this is going to be a feast for the eyes!

Colored Vintage Glassware
After spotting this in countless weddings and shoots this has become my newest personal obsession. As of late, I can be found scouring local antique stores expanding BDE's collection. There are so many fun colors, shapes and patterns to mix and match. If you want to incorporate this into your bridal shower or rehearsal dinner, BDE can help you out. And if you're looking for colored glassware for your wedding or a whole lot of inspiration, the mecca is Casa De Perrin, a rental company based out of California (but ships!). Isn't this ombre glassware on the bar amazing!

Backdrops
Backdrops, whether they be for the ceremony or reception, can make a huge impact. That's why architectural elements are always something that we like to incorporate into our designs, despite the amount of time it usually means my husband and I spend at Home Depot. It's always worth it to add a creative punch and really make the whole scene pop.

Bold Colors
2013 was the year of soft romantic blush and gold weddings. 2014 is starting with a bang! There are bright colors to be found in every real wedding and styled shoot now and we love it! Being unafraid of color opens so many design doors.

Ribbons
Has anyone else noticed this? If I could go back in time I would add ribbon to everything in my own wedding. Invitation, chairs, bouquets, tables, bars... the possibilities are endless and it makes for a sweet touch.

Mix & Match Seating
Did you watch Sean + Catherine's wedding? If so, you probably noticed this trend was on display in full force. Whether it's ceremony or reception seating, mixing and matching chairs that are different shapes, colors or materials will add instant visual interest and is a super fun and quirky detail.

So be bold and don't be afraid to think out of the box! Are you planning to use any of these in your upcoming wedding? Check out our Pinterest board for more inspiration!

January's Look We Love

This month, we are loving the winter wonderland look. Everything white, with crystals, gold or silver, pearls and accents of deep colors really bring an elegant richness to the whole look. Here are a few of our favorite images to complete the wedding design, but checkout our Pinterest board for many more variations!

Shall we look at the big picture first? Here are some shots of winter!  I like the forest feel the last picture gives with the big flower displays which look like snow-covered trees and shrubs.

And for deserts and cake, can you get more elegant? Imagine everything white but some accents of deep lavender like that last cake has.

And look at the drink decor possibilities!

Now let's move on to flowers. All white of course would be gorgeous, but I love these deep accent colors:

Last but not least, dresses and shoes! Dresses with tulle, crystals, pearls or lace all add that intricacy that spellbinds us in winter.

And if you're accenting with deep reds, these magic ruby slippers would be the cherry to top it off!

Meet our new Assistant Planner, Rachel!

We are beyond excited to introduce the newest face around Best Day Ever, Rachel Terrazas. Here's a little Q & A with our brand new Assistant Planner!

Tell us some fun facts about you: I am a California girl living in Texas, the oldest of four sisters, graduated from CSU Long Beach, and just got back from living abroad in Italy!

What do you love the most about Texas?: The two-stepping and southern hospitality! Dancing is my favorite thing to do and when I can get that along with a dancehall full of sweet Texans, I'm in heaven.

Why this industry? To me, family is everything. A marriage creates a new family and that is the most important moment in a couple's life. I can't think of a more rewarding job than one where I get to make the wedding day a dream come true.

We can't wait to dive right into the New Year and a brand new wedding season with Rachel by our side! To find out more about BDE and our team, visit us at www.bestdayevertx.com!
